WHAT TO BRING WHEN ATTENDING THE FDTN ACADEMY:
 

  • Full turnout gear

  • SCBA

  • Spare SCBA cylinder (minimum of one)

  • Change of clothing

  • Any personal items that may be needed during training
     

HOTEL & TRAVEL INFORMATION:

The closest airport is the Indianapolis International Airport and is approximately 20 miles from the facility. Rental cars are available at this location.

There are a number of Hotels located in the Indianapolis area. FDTN uses the Best Western Crossroads, located at 7610 Old Trails Road in Indianapolis. There are a number of places to eat in the immediate area of the hotel.

For hotel reservation FDTN uses Preferred Convention Services. You can register online or contact PCS for assistance at 1-888-763-7236.

DIRECTIONS TO THE ACADEMY:

The facility is located on the Southeast side of the Indianapolis area, just off of Interstate 74. From Indianapolis, take I-465 to I-74 East. Proceed East on I-74 to the Pleasant View Road exit (3 exits from I-465). Proceed Right off of the exit (South) and take a left (East) on Frontage Road. Proceed Right (South) on N 850 W. Approximately 3/4 mile on N 850 W take a Left (East) on Lone Oak Boulevard. The facility is located at the end of this road.

THE FDTN TRAINING ACADEMY

The Fire Department Training Network's training academy - - is located just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. The 50-acre training site was designed and built to provide FDTN's unique style of results-oriented, hands-on, training.

The academy was built to provide a realistic fireground and allow students to experience as close to real conditions as possible.
