The Fire Department Training Network's training academy — FIRESCUE USA — is located just outside of Indianapolis. The 50-acre training site was designed and built to provide FDTN's unique style of results-oriented, hands-on, training.

The academy was built to provide a realistic fireground and allow students to experience as close to real conditions as possible.

What to Bring When Attending Courses

Students attending FDTN's Academy should bring the following:

Full turnout gear

SCBA

Spare SCBA cylinder (minimum of one)

Change of clothing

Any personal items that may be needed during training

Hotel & Travel Information

The closest airport is the Indianapolis International Airport and is approximately 20 miles from the facility. Rental cars are available at this location.

There are a number of Hotels located in the Indianapolis area. FDTN uses the Holiday Inn East, located on the East side of Indianapolis at the intersection of I-465 and I-70/Shadeland Ave. There are a number of places to eat in the immediate area of the hotel.

Directions to FDTN Academy

The facility is located on the Southeast side of the Indianapolis area, just off of Interstate 74. From Indianapolis, take I-465 to I-74 East. Proceed East on I-74 to the Pleasant View Road exit (3 exits from I-465). Proceed Right off of the exit (South) and take a left (East) on Frontage Road. Proceed Right (South) on N 850 W. Approximately 3/4 mile on N 850 W take a Left (East) on Lone Oak Boulevard. The facility is located at the end of this road.
